Musician Liss Victory and Comedian Krish Mohan are an interracial, cross-genre, mixed media couple. With their talents combined, they set up “Transcontinental Variety Shows” bringing together music and comedy in cities from coast-to-coast of the United States. On January 8, 2016 they perform at The Brass Rail in Ft Wayne.
“We work together using two different forms of art to share new ideas with people and generate conversation,” says Victory. Mohan adds, “Humor is a great way to get the audience comfortable with social issues.”
The couple both utilize performance as a vehicle for positive change. Mohan’s standup adds his distinct comedic flair to hot-button topics like race, religion, and immigration, sharing his perspective as an immigrant from India. Meanwhile, Victory writes protest songs driven by acoustic guitar rhythms. The lyrics reflect her white, middle-class upbringing in the States: surrounded by a failing manufacturing industry set against a backdrop of the longest war in U.S. history.
They differ in race, ethnicity, religion, and even citizenship. Yet, they’re still very much in love. And they share the same goal: to change the world. Join them on the journey for just $6 at 10pm.
