LFW Weekend Fun File
It’s Memorial Day weekend! If you’re not going to the Indy 500 or the lake, check out the awesome things happening in our city!
This is by no means an exhaustive list, and if you don’t quite see what you’re looking for, check out our events calendar.
If you’d like to see your event featured in the Weekend Fun File, or added to our events calendar, let us know! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can go ahead and submit your event to our calendar!
Thursday, May 26 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Per the Facebook Page: “Fortezza Coffee Shop owners Sean and Melody Wang have partnered with Chapman’s Brewing Founder, Scott Fergusson to open a tap room in downtown Fort Wayne. Fortezza / Chapmans Tap Room, at 819 South Calhoun Street in Fort Wayne.
They will open with 10 taps of Chapman’s beer, and with their Indiana small brewer’s permit they can offer growlers fills, pints, kegs, and cold carryout.” — This will be awesome. Be some of the first to check it out!
Thursday, May 26 at 8 p.m.
A great concert at the Philmore on Broadway. Tickets are $30 in advance.
Friday, May 27, 2016 at 8 p.m.
As part of the Foellinger Theater Concert Series, REO Speedwagon is coming! Tickets are from $49-$99 and the show should be great!
Saturday, May 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Formerly known as Barr Street Market, it’s the same summer market we all know and love. It opened last week and is open through the summer. Come check it out! There’s something for everyone!
Saturday, May 28 at 8 p.m.
The movie begins a few minutes after sundown. These are always fun! There will be games and activities, and I heard maybe even a dance off.
Sunday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tickets for adults are $3 and for children $2. The Botanical Conservatory is so fun, and it might be raining this weekend, so this is definitely something wonderful to do, especially with the kiddos!
Sunday, May 29 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
My daughter is terrified of bees. I love bees. They’re important (especially honey bees). You can see the indoor beehive and maybe even the queen bee if you can find her (no, not Beyonce).
Monday, May 30 at 11 a.m.
Memorial Day isn’t all about fun in the sun and cookouts. Start your day honoring our veterans in this Parade and Ceremony and remember what the day is all about.
Wednesday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A couple days ago, as I was wandering around town, I happened upon The FIND and I am so glad I found it! It’s so cute. I’ve been anxiously awaiting its opening, and I am so excited to check it out!
Wednesday, June 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Local Artists and Food Trucks! Just what we love! Admission is free, so that’s why we love it even more! Trichotomous Hippopotamus and The Legendary Trainhoppers are performing in June.
Remember, this isn’t all Fort Wayne has to offer. Check out our events calendar, and get out and have some fun this weekend! We can’t wait to see you around our city!
