YLNI Summer Farmers Market Series: Xisco’s Pops

Every Saturday now through September, the YLNI Summer Farmers Market is open to the public on the corner of Wayne Street and Barr Street. The YLNI Farmer’s Market supports nearly 75 local farmers, producers, bakers and artists who offer fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, cheese, breads, jewelry, and much more. Throughout the summer, attendees enjoy free activities, such as yoga classes, cooking demonstrations, and musical entertainment, along with special events like Coffee with a Cop and Bottle and Bottega. In this series, we’ll be spotlighting local vendors. Today, we’re looking at Xisco’s Pops!

When the dog days of summer are in full swing, I’m all about finding ways to cool off. Yes, a cold beverage is a good option. But, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a frozen treat to beat the heat. Enter Xisco’s Pops! This little cart packs a ton of flavor and is a sure-fire way to keep your cool in this Indiana summer.

What they sell: All-natural frozen treats and fruit pops

Why their products are awesome: They already had my attention with “all-natural” as a health enthusiast and all around fitness junkie myself. BUT ALSO! Some of their pops are even vegan. Dairy-free and vegan frozen treats are hard to come by. When you come across them, they’re typically less than thrilling. Xisco’s Pops changes the game by serving up pure deliciousness in vegan-friendly style!

Editor’s Pick: My personal favorite are the Mango pops if you’re wanting a taste of something tropical! My dairy-consuming friends, however, swear that the Peanut Butter Cup pop is out of this world. I mean, it’s essentially ice cream dipped in milk chocolate. You can’t go wrong with that.

Actually, it's pronounced like "Rachel." Don't worry, everyone does it.
