LFW Weekly Fun File

Looking for fun things to do in Fort Wayne? Look no further! LFW compiles a list of ongoings and events that we’re excited about every week!

This is by no means an exhaustive list, and if you don’t quite see what you’re looking for, check out our events calendar.

If you’d like to see your event featured in the Weekly Fun File, or added to our events calendar, let us know! Email us at info@livingfortwayne.com or you can go ahead and submit your event to our calendar!

1. Women’s Equality Day 2016

Thursday, August 25 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

It’s Women’s Equality Day! Celebrate women’s right to vote with the YWCA Northeast Indiana this year! They’re going to teach you everything you need to know about hitting those polls!

2. Equal Means Equal Screening

Friday, August 26 at 7 p.m.

Equal Means Equal looks at how women are treated in the U.S. today. My guess (spoiler alert): It’s not actually equal.

3. LFW Film Series — It Happened One Night

Friday, August 26 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Free movie, fun activities, and food available for purchase!

4. 2016 Botanical Roots Concert Series: John Primer (Blues)

Friday, August 26 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Stop by and enjoy the live music, and purchase a drink or two from Mad Anthony Brewing while you’re there. Don’t miss a more in-depth summary of the event here.

5. 1st Annual Fort Wayne Fitness Fest at Headwaters Park With Celebrity Tony Little!

Saturday, August 27 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This festival has anything you could want or think of. Food, drinks, raffles, experts, education … literally, anything you could want.

6. 2016 Taste of the Arts

Saturday, August 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

I love Taste of the Arts! There will be live performances, food and art available for purchase (or to just sit back, and enjoy). Check out a closer look here.

7. Cocktails & Sweet Deals Garden Party

Saturday, August 27 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Mercantile on Main is celebrating. There will be food trucks, wine from Wine Down and live music. Oh, and did I mention 15% off the entire store?!

8. Brickworld Fort Wayne LEGO Exposition

Saturday, August 27  from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Legos! See what amazing things people have made, and participate in some fun activities of your own.

9. Fort Wayne Outfitters River Rally

Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28

Whatever outdoor activity you can think of, Fort Wayne Outfitters and Bike Depot is making it happen.

10. Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival

Sunday, August 28 through Monday, September 5.

Who doesn’t love classic cars? This should be a fun event for both car enthusiasts and people (like me) who know very little about cars. It will be a good time no matter who you are.

Don’t Forget:

Recurring events, such as the YLNI Farmer’s Market, Summer Nights at the Embassy, Friday Nights Live, and Rock the Plaza are all still happening this summer! For a complete list of events (including the weekly fun) check out our calendar!

Remember, this isn’t all Fort Wayne has to offer. Get out and have some fun this weekend! We can’t wait to see you around our city!
