Have you ever wondered who the people behind Living Fort Wayne are? Or maybe you’re curious about the different things our team does every day that make Living Fort Wayne the go-to destination for all the great things happening in our city. In this spotlight series, we are featuring a few of our amazing volunteers who will share a bit about their contributions to Living Fort Wayne and what they do outside of their volunteer work with us.
Next in our series is our Living Fort Wayne Scholars Program intern, Micheala Pattison!
What is your role within LFW and why did you decide to volunteer for our blog?
I am The Intern. I am a senior at IPFW studying Interpersonal and Organizational Communication with minors in Public Relations and Business. I volunteered for Living Fort Wayne because I am not from Fort Wayne so I wanted to learn more! So far, I have lived in the city for three years and I love it! I think it has a lot to offer that not enough people know about, including myself! I’m a writer by trade so helping Living Fort Wayne promote a city I love through writing which I love is a perfect fit.
Tell us one thing about your life outside of LFW. (Job, Family, pets, hobbies, etc).
I have a six month old puppy named Mila. She is a great excuse for getting in my daily dose of exercise as well as spending time with my boyfriend. We love going for walks with her because she has so much fun and we enjoy laughing at her excitement when she sees a new person because she is so friendly. There is never a dull moment when I hang out with her and she is more photogenic than I am which is hilarious.
If you could live any other place in the world, beside FW, where would you live and why?
I would love to live in Paris. I’ve never been but I would love to go. I’ve heard the culture is amazing; I’ve had the food and it is amazing. I just think Paris is amazing so I would love to live there.
If you had a friend coming in from out of town, what is the one can’t-miss thing you would show them or do with them in FW?
I would show them Laser X and Ultrazone, because I love laser tag and if you are going to do one, you have to do the other. Then we would go downtown for food, so much food.
If you were going to karaoke tonight, what song would you sing?
I would sing Defying Gravity from Wicked because I’ve never done karaoke but I could cross this one off my bucket list.
