About the Cause
The Live Healthy Summit hopes to provide insight and ideas to live a life to one’s fullest potential. Whether that’s focusing on a plant-based diet, changing your mindset or learning how to incorporate movement into your day. We want to bring the focus back to the individual by taking charge of one’s health and being our own health advocate.
Through the Live Healthy Summit, we hope to offer an amazing opportunity to two individuals who attend the Live Healthy Summit by entering them into the Fort Wayne CHIP program through Live Healthy Hoosiers. The CHIP program, they will help expand their knowledge even further and kick-start themselves into a lifestyle of health and well-being.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Discuss how an individual can live one’s life to the fullest potential by diet, changing mindset and/or adding exercise.
2. Identify how individuals can take charge of their own health and well-being.

Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn is an American Physician, author and former Olympic rowing champion. Dr. Esselstyn has published over 150 scientific papers, many of them focused around how to prevent and reverse coronary artery disease via plant-based nutrition. He is the author of a New York Times bestselling book, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease. His work was featured in the 2011 documentary film Forks Over Knives. Dr. Esselstyn conducts long-term nutrition research on arresting and reversing coronary artery disease in severely ill patients through the use of plant-based whole-foods diet.
As the Keynote speaker, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr., Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Reversal Program at the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute, will present the latest research and information pertaining to heart health.
Rip Esselstyn, Engine 2 Founder, was born in upstate New York, raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and educated at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a three-time All-American swimmer. After graduation, Rip spent a decade as one of the premier triathletes in the world.
