Five Patios Not To Miss This Spring and Summer

Despite its harsh winters, Fort Wayne’s restaurants are abundant in outdoor seating.  Now that the weather is finally warming up, it’s time to grab your plates and glasses and dine outside.  Here are some of our favorite local patio picks! The Deck Ask anyone in Fort Wayne where they go to eat outside, and the majority will point to The Deck first.  It’s practically a Fort Wayne icon, located just across the river from the Old Fort in the parking lot of Don Hall’s Old Gas House.  If you’re heading there most nights and weekends, you can expect a wait, but they’ve expanded the bar so it’s easy to grab a drink while you do. Fort Wayne Farm Show 2018

What is it? The Fort Wayne Farm Show is back for its 29th year at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.  The free three-day festival, January 16-18, is among the most respected in the nation, drawing visitors from around the country.  Agri-business leaders come to share their knowledge and experience, and compare the latest technology to further the industry.  Bring the kids to take a peek at the area’s largest variety of farm machinery equipment.  With the completion of the new Conference Center in the Memorial Coliseum, this year’s show is expected to be the biggest one yet, with approximately 1,100 booths and displays of even larger pieces of equipment than last year. What else is happening? Daily educational seminars are presented by the Northeastern Indiana Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Purdue Cooperative Extension.  Parkview Health Systems will be there offering free CPR classes on each day of the show.  A fundraising auction, in support of the Indiana FFA Scholarship Foundation, raised over $25,000 for scholarships in 2017 and will be held the Tuesday and Wednesday of this year’s show.
