Local Eats for College Students

There’s no place like home for the holidays, especially when home has good food. Being a college student, I understand that sometimes going home for a meal is impossible. After looking into some restaurants and what they had to offer, I found some great local eats for college students that satisfy taste buds and your wallet! Calhoun Soups, Salads and Spirits, also known as CS3, is a great place for tasty food, fun ambience and to meet friends. It is located at 1915 S. Calhoun. Their hours are Monday 11am-8pm; Tuesday 11am-8pm; Wednesday–Friday 11am-midnight; Saturday 12pm-midnight. 816 Pint and Slice offers excellent pizzas in the heart of downtown and is located at 816 Calhoun Street. Hours are Sunday-Monday 11am-8:16 pm; Tuesday-Thursday 11am-10:16pm; Friday-Saturday 11am-11:16pm. Coney Island is one of Fort Wayne’s classic restaurants, serving up their famous coney dogs since 1914. It is located at 131 W. Main St. It is open Monday-Thursday 8am-10pm; Friday-Saturday 8am-11pm; Sunday 9am-9pm. Bravas Specialty Burger Joint is located at 3412 Fairfield Avenue. They offer classic and seasonal burgers, briskets, and more. My personal favorite is the classic cheeseburger and patatas naked! Their hours are Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm. Cindy’s Diner is located at 230 W Berry Street and is an authentic ‘50s Diner. They serve breakfast all day, including their famous “Garbage”. It has been a local favorite since 1952! Their hours are Monday-Saturday 6am-2pm and Sunday...
