Five Patios Not To Miss This Spring and Summer

Despite its harsh winters, Fort Wayne’s restaurants are abundant in outdoor seating.  Now that the weather is finally warming up, it’s time to grab your plates and glasses and dine outside.  Here are some of our favorite local patio picks! The Deck Ask anyone in Fort Wayne where they go to eat outside, and the majority will point to The Deck first.  It’s practically a Fort Wayne icon, located just across the river from the Old Fort in the parking lot of Don Hall’s Old Gas House.  If you’re heading there most nights and weekends, you can expect a wait, but they’ve expanded the bar so it’s easy to grab a drink while you do. View this post on Instagram We love sharing this spring weather on our outdoor patio with you! #FortWayne A post shared by Three Rivers Distilling Co. (@threeriversdistillingco) on Apr 27, 2018 at 8:56pm PDT Lunch on the Square While not technically a patio, we still wanted to include Lunch on the Square in Freimann Square for its glorified outdoor dining experience.  Local food trucks and music performances vary each week, but the positive energy is always sunny and...

How to Hygge in Fort Wayne

About Hygge What is hygge? Aside from being a little difficult to pronounce (“hoo-guh”), the definition has an extremely easy to understand meaning. It encompasses the overall feeling of contentment, well-being, and being cozy. In our fast paced world, we often ignore these important feelings and practices. Lucky for us, it is very possible to hygge in Fort Wayne.   How to Hygge in Fort Wayne Contentment  Contentment is different for everyone. If you want to feel contentment, you should find something that you really enjoy and act on it. This could be catching a show at Embassy or checking out the latest performance from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. Promote Your Personal Well Being  It’s a new year and you have new opportunities to do something for yourself. Help your mind, body, and soul by joining a local gym or taking a yoga class. Coziness  Cozy is in the eye of the beholder. It can be going to an amazing coffee shop like Fortezza, or enjoying time with your friends at a warm and friendly bar like JK O’Donnells.   How to Achieve the Entire Hygge Package Winter Cozy is a hygge themed evening brought to you by Riverfront Fort Wayne. Everything about this speaks hygge. According to Megan Butler, this event will stimulate the senses. She uses Maslow’s hierarchy of needs to create a sense of wonder and connection through the taste, sight, touch, smell, and sound. The goal is to offer an amazing experience while re-defining winter. The event highlights the positives of winter (like a heated tent, cozy furniture, warm cocktails, food for purchase, live music from Ty Causey, sensory games, ice sculptures, and drink luges). The event will feature local ice sculptors and other local vendors like Mutton and Club Soda. Part of promoting your personal well-being and contentment will be highlighted through adult hands-on sensory activities. According to Megan Butler, you should think about sensory activities for autism. You can play with the activities and take them home. Riverfront Fort Wayne is committed to making people more conscious of the rivers. This event is an example of how people can live their lives around the rivers and have fun all year, even in the winter. Event Details Winter Cozy is a part of Winterval Admission is $10 at the door. Top 6 Places For A Fancy Ladies Night Out

Ladies Night is the night that you can leave the stressful work week behind you and really let loose. It also a chance for you to reconnect with friends that you may not get to see that often. Living Fort Wayne understands and wants to give you that fun ladies night to unwind and make some new memories. So we complied a list of some of the best places around Fort Wayne to check out. So get that black dress out you’ve been dying to wear, grab your gals and head out to one of these mighty fine restaurants!   Catablu Grille A contemporary, classy environment with a big-city vibe will guarantee a good time at Catablu Grille! Best times to go are Mondays for $2.00 off all martinis and Wednesdays where it’s 20% off bottled wine. Main St. Bistro Located right on Main Street in Downtown Fort Wayne, this is the perfect location to walk to right after work! I would go there for their Happy Hour special which runs from 4pm-7pm on Thursdays. $5 crafts and martinis with select half-price appetizers? Don’t twist my arm. Hoppy Gnome Also located downtown on Berry Street, this place has newly added craft cocktails that you definitely don’t want to miss out on. Have each person order separate drinks and try them all at once! Also, you can’t go wrong with their signature sangrias loaded with fruit and white wine. Wine Down The name speaks for itself. If you and the girls love wine, this is the spot to venture to on a Friday night! You can try one of their handcrafted cocktails or take your chance on emptying your bank account trying all of their wines! Every wine has a different style and taste so don’t get too carried away (or do) with the wine card they provide you. Club Soda This place has a stunning, classy atmosphere with exceptional martinis. Be sure to be seated outdoors to soak up the last bit of Summer that we have left! Enjoy great food, drinks and company with live music every Friday and Saturday night at Club Soda. Chop’s Wine Bar Enjoy some amazing seafood while perusing Chop’s extensive wine list. Chop’s Wine Bar has a very intimate, cozy atmosphere while still keeping the vibe of a big-city right in our hometown. I would choose this restaurant to host a birthday or bachelorette party.   Check out our Top Picks for the Best Bros Night...
