Galloping Gobbler

Hey Fort Wayne! Are you in town tomorrow for Thanksgiving and looking for something fun and active to do? If so, then the Galloping Gobbler 4-mile race is for you! I’ve done this race for the past 4 years and it’s a lot of fun to run or walk as a family. It’s something I look forward to on Thanksgiving because personally I love running outside, no matter how cold it is, but it gives me an excuse to enjoy Thanksgiving later without feeling as guilty. Plus who doesn’t love the idea of burning calories before eating Thanksgiving dinner later? Runners can expect live music, a turkey costume mascot, a real live turkey, and most importantly to have a great time! Veep Races is the company who organizes not only this event, but several other races in the Fort Wayne area throughout the year. The race director is Mitch Harper. The Galloping Gobbler starts at the University of Saint Francis Hutzell Athletic Center and winds through  Lindenwood Cemetery before finishing back at the campus. In the fall, the cemetery has pretty scenery and runners can expect several big hills along the course which adds a bit of a challenge!
