The celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 23-27 at the studio, located at 300 Johnson Street in Ligonier. The 7th Anniversary Bash and Gala Event will feature five full days offering sensory tours along with fragrance sampling and creating at Annie Oakley’s all-new Essential Oil Mixing Bar, along with refreshments, music, gifts and door prizes. Free Sensory Tours start at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. all five days. Guests will experience a one-of-a-kind tour of a real perfumery and learn about the use of essential oils as the first perfume. Annie Oakley’s Mixing Bar will provide an opportunity for guests to mix an Annie Oakley product that’s uniquely their own. They can customize their own body spray, body lotion, linen spray or essential oil custom blend, starting with Annie Oakley’s all-organic plant oils, pure essentials oils, and natural perfumer’s alcohol. “Get lost in our exclusive Mixing Bar ingredients such as zesty lemon, calming lavender, peaceful frankincense, invigorating mint and zingy ginger,” said Renee Gabet, Annie Oakley owner and founder. “With a full lab of pure essential oils and natural ingredients and over 50 ingredient combinations, there are so many ways to feel alive with nature’s beauty; come and discover on your own!” Free Gifts will be provided to each guest and there will be a drawing to win a free Annie Oakley product. Guests will be involved in naming Annie Oakley’s Anniversary 2018 Fragrance. In addition, the Perfumery Studio Gift Shoppe will offer special anniversary discount pricing on select products. Have a Sweet Valentine’s Day, Fort Wayne

I was caught with the toughest question at work today, “What are you going to get your boyfriend for Valentine’s Day?” Wait, I have to get HIM something? I am a bit of a Valentine’s Day novice, but I thought it was just an excuse to go out on a fancy date and remind people that you love them. While I don’t have anything against Valentine’s Day traditions specifically , I can be a bit of a cynic about the holiday. Perhaps it’s because, like most 20-something women, I’ve had my fair share of Valentine’s Day mishaps. But there is something to be said about a holiday centered around love and happiness. There is no shortage of sumptuous dining destinations here in Fort Wayne, (if I got to pick, I’d choose Cork ‘N Cleaver), but reservations will likely fill up quickly with Valentine’s being on a Friday this year. But in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a nice bottle of wine, some chocolate (DeBrand, of course), and a dozen roses (hint hint)....
