It’s Holiday Season! Looking for fun things to do in Fort Wayne? Look no further! LFW compiles a list of fun ongoings and events that we’re excited about every week! This is by no means an exhaustive list, and if you don’t quite see what you’re looking for, check out our events calendar. Click on the event for more information about times, locations, cost, etc. 1. Modbar Holiday Throw Down Thursday, December 8 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The second annual Holiday Throw Down! Some friendly competition for some great prizes should make for a fun night. 2. ART21 Screening Thursday, December 8 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. A free screening of ART 21’s Art in the Twenty-First Century: Chicago. 3. Holiday Pops December 9, 10, and 17, 2016 2:00 PM | Embassy Theatre (December 10 and 17) 7:30 PM | Embassy Theatre We love POPS! If you don’t know, Broadway personalities join the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Chorus, and other special guests to perform fun holiday music – both contemporary and traditional. 4. Harry Potter’s Magical Holiday Ball – Supporting PBS39 Friday, December 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dancing! Crafts! Harry Potter! Go dressed in formal attire or dress up as your favorite character. 5. Jingle Bell Jazz Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. The Heartland Sings Vocal Artists’ unique spin on holiday faves. There will be a cash bar available throughout the evening. 6. Santa & the Reindeer – Dec. 10 Saturday, December 10 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is one of the cutest opportunities for Santa pics EVER. My daughter loves going and petting the reindeer. You can also check out the rest of the conservatory in its Christmas beauty. 7. Santacon Fort Wayne Saturday, December 10 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dress as your favorite Christmas character and tour the bars downtown! All participating bars will have drink specials and drawings for prizes. It should be a great time! 8. Hoosiers in Harmony Saturday, December 10 at the 7 p.m. Mad Ants game They’re trying to set a Guinness World Record for “Most People Singing Live on a Radio Broadcast” to celebrate Indiana’s bicentennial. Join the fun! Heartland Vocal Artists will perform after! 9. Paw-tos with Santa 2016 Sunday, December 11 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Your pets can meet Santa too! 10. Straight No Chaser: I’ll Have Another – 20th Anniversary Tour Tuesday, December 13 at 7:30 p.m. Because who doesn’t love Straight No Chaser?! Click on the event for more information about times, locations, cost, etc. 1. “Christmas at Home” with the Swinney Sisters Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3 Celebrate the holidays in true victorian fashion at the Swinney homestead. The house will be decked in beautiful victorian decorations and light refreshments will be provided. 2. Fort Wayne Ballet: The Nutcracker Friday, December 2 through Sunday, December 11, Time varies This beautiful holiday tradition is finally here! 3. The Polar Express Pajama Party Friday, December 2 at 7 p.m. The annual Polar Express Storytime! Activities, coloring, and letters to Santa. 4. Midnight Sale Friday, December 2 from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Hyde Brothers at night! There will be sales! If you wear something festive, you get a free book, so fun! 5. Santa Train Times and days vary, check their website for details. This train ride with Santa is so fun. The first round of tickets is sold out, but they are adding dates/times and more tickets will go on sale shortly! Your kids will have a blast, especially if they like trains. 6. Christmas on the Farm Saturday, December 3 at 1 p.m. Horse drawn wagon rides, Father Christmas, holiday vendors selling 100% homemade items, and more!   7. Mad Ants Vs. Windy City Bulls December 3 at 7 p.m. Check out the Mad Ants this weekend! For more information about the team, have a look at our latest article. 8. Bravas Presents: WTF Sundaze Saunday, December 4 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. If it’s not breakfast, lunch, or brunch, then what is it? The only way to find out what’s on the menu is by attending! 9. Holiday Open House and Sensitive Santa Visit December 4 at 2 p.m. This is awesome. If you have a child with sensory issues, this is an opportunity to take them to see Santa and get their picture taken. There will be a hot chocolate bar, christmas cookies, and lots of fun! 10. Moscow Ballet Presents: Great Russian Nutcracker Wednesday, December 7 at 7 p.m. This should be a wonderful, classic, traditional holiday show. 11. Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance Ceremony Wednesday, December 7 at 7 p.m. This...
