Looking for fun things to do in Fort Wayne? We compile a list of events and activities every week! This is by no means an exhaustive list, and if you don’t quite see what you’re looking for, check out our events calendar. Click on the event for more information about times, locations, cost, etc. 1. Youtheatre’s Dr. Seuss on the Loose at ACPL! Thursday, March 2 at 4:30 p.m. The kids will love this performance, and I think you will, too! 2. Thomas Rhett: Home Team Tour Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. Thomas Rhett will be in town tonight. Have a little fun on a Thursday. 3. Fort Wayne Museum of Art Gala and Auction Friday, March 3 at 6 p.m. This gala and auction is so fun. All proceeds go to a great cause. 4. Mad Ants vs. Westchester Knicks Friday, March 3 at 7 p.m. Kick off March with a little hometown basketball. 5. Doctors Day Saturday, March 4 at 10 a.m. Science Central is celebrating Docs! I heard the Parkview Samaritan helicopter will be there … should be a fun time! 6. Fort Wayne Home And Garden Show Saturday, March 4 at 10 a.m. It’s time to start thinking spring.komets 7. Fort Wayne Komets vs. Wheeling Nailers Saturday, March 4 at 5 p.m. Break out your orange and show some Komets pride. This event is in conjunction with Hockey and Heels (see below). 8. Hockey & Heels Saturday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. Follow the colorful path to the Century Club room to shop throughout the game. You will also have a chance to win door prizes from Mary Kay, Simply Yoga, Cottage Flowers, DeBrand, Spiece Fitness, Summit City Brewerks, The Salon, and Cala Deia Spa! 9. Let’s Comedy! Presents: Tim Northern Saturday, March 4 at 8 p.m. “That do-it-yourself approach is paying off for the Nashville native, whose influences are a veritable Who’s Who of comic genius. ‘George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Steven Wright – I like all of ‘em.’ Once Tim takes control of the mike, he relies on much the same type of material that those classic comedians used to land in the national spotlight – plain and simple, Tim Northern is a word man.” 10. March Madness: Genealogy Style Begins Sunday, March 5 March Madness: Genealogy Style on the theme of “Out of the Box Genealogy,” a week of programs from March 5 through March 11, 2017. In the meantime, here’s a quick peak at some of the things we are looking forward to this week! Email us at info@livingfortwayne.com 1. Works In Progress Night Thursday, Feb. 25 at 7p           The Philmore on Broadway is hosting an event centered around positive and innovative thinkers. Bring your work (even incomplete) to share with the group! Each artist will have a scheduled share time in which to perform and/or talk about their piece. Not an artist? That’s ok! Come anyway! Admission is FREE. 2. Down the Line Friday, Feb. 26 at 8p You can’t miss the original with its legendary classic-rock covers from rock-solid local bands! The successful Down the Line concert series celebrates 10 years of putting the best bands from Fort Wayne on the Embassy stage, it should be a fun night for everyone! 3. Murder Mystery Overnight Friday, Feb. 26 at 7:30         You get to spend the night at Science Central and try to solve a murder mystery, learning about science and forensics in the process. Who doesn’t think that sounds cool? This is a family friendly event — children 6 and up are welcome with an adult. 4. Young Frankenstein Friday, Feb. 26 at 8p             I saw this show last weekend. LOVED IT. I highly recommend going. The cast is wonderful, the songs are fun, the choreography is on point, and the story is everything you’d want it to be. It was also hilarious. 5. YLNI Winter Farmer’s Market Saturday, Feb. 27 at 9a                 Spring is almost here! In the meantime, grab some fresh and unique produce, meats, baked goods and homemade crafts in an urban setting. It’s perfect. 6. Fort Wayne Home and Garden Show Saturday and Sunday, all day.           Get your Spring Fever on while browsing the over 600 vendors participating in this year’s events. There will be exhibits giving you ideas for both outside and inside your home, as well as educational seminars throughout the weekend. 7. Cinema Center and the Oscars From Mars Saturday, Feb. 27 at 6p           Dress up, participate in live and silent auctions, Oscar trivia, music, food provided by Club Soda, beer and wine, and a FREE screening of the Oscar Nominated short films.
