The Hoppy Gnome: Opening Date Announced

I have good news! The long wait for The Hoppy Gnome is almost over. I pass by their remodeled restaurant space at 203 E. Berry Street nearly every day. Each day my excitement grows. Over the last few months, I’ve watched the interviews in the newspapers, the announcement of their menu, the inside rehab, the new outside glass windows being installed, and the recent addition of their signage to the outside of the Anthony Wayne Building. Combined, they have built up quite the buzz in our community. I spoke with one of the owners, James Kahn, about the opening day. He is happy to report that doors open for The Hoppy Gnome on Friday, July 10! If you have enjoyed the unique experience at Baker Street restaurant on the north side of town, you know that they do things right. Created by the same owners as Baker Street, they have decided to give Fort Wayne something unique that will have everyone from every part of town, driving downtown to dine. The Hoppy Gnome will feature beer from Midwest breweries as well as unique options from Germany, Belgium, and others.  In addition to the unique drink options, they will also be featuring a unique food menu. With the help of Chef Chad Kyle of Baker Street, they will be featuring their own unique creations of culinary tacos. The tacos will each have a unique taste and flavor to go along with the one of a kind environment found in their 3,000 square foot space on the corner of Clinton Street and Berry Street. To find out more about The Hoppy Gnome, visit their website. They will keep you updated on improvements, new information, parking options, and job openings. This is a restaurant that I see having a long-term relationship with downtown Fort Wayne and all of its patrons. Mark your calendars, and join them on July 10!  ...
