Fleet Feet Sports Vintage 5K Saturday, August 12 at 8 a.m. It’s Fleet Feet’s Birthday! Help them celebrate, Old School style! Pufferbelly 5K and Kids Fun Run Saturday, August 12 at 8 a.m. Another fun run on Saturday, head out to Salomon Farm Trail where there will be plenty of things for the whole family to do! Arts United Center and Exhibition Tour Saturday, August 12 at 2 p.m. It’s a combined tour of the exhibits you don’t want to miss! Environmental Advocate Training – Fort Wayne Saturday, August 12 at 2 p.m. Learn how to effectively advocate for our environment. Bands On The Banks 2017 Saturday, August 12 at 5 p.m. Food, brew, and bands. In the spirit of things, choose a form of transportation to the event that’s not a car. Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt – Fort Wayne Sunday, August 13 at 1 p.m. Use your detective skills to solve a murder mystery, all during a fun scavenger hunt! Facebook Live: Dermatology Monday, August 14 at 6 p.m. Parkview will be taking your skincare questions live. Watch and interact straight from your living room, and have all your skincare questions answered. Eclipse Info and Safety Tips Tuesday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. Learn how to safely observe the eclipse and how to make a DIY pin hole projector. Click on the event for more information about times, locations, cost, etc. 1. YLNI September Hot Spot Thursday, September 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This month’s hot spot is at Club Soda. Grab some Gouda Dip and meet some new friends! 2. Middle Waves Pre-Party & Poster Show Thursday, September 15 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Want to see some killer designs from local, regional, and national artists? Stop by the Poster Show! There will be music (of course) and free food and a cash bar sponsored by Calhoun Street Soups, Salads and Spirits! 3. Middle Waves Music Festival Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17 It’s here! A couple dozen musical performances by national and local musicians, local food trucks and vendors, drinks, and lots of fun! You can check out the Middle Waves Pop Up Workshop while your there or do some Yoga at Middle Waves. It’s a weekend of good times! 4. Freud’s Last Session Septemer 16 through September 25 Friday/Saturday Curtain 7:30 PM Sunday Matinee Curtain 2:30 PM An intellectual show, it places Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis in a room together. “The conversation and debate sparkles with wit, articulate argument, and some pathos—as well as with surprising civility.” It should captivate audiences! 5. JOHNNY APPLESEED Yay! Yay! Johnny Appleseed! Food, fun, crafts, and more! I feel like it doesn’t even need explaining. 6. Muddy Trail Run & Adventure Walk Saturday, September 17 at 8 a.m. This is all about fun! There’s a mud pit, hay bale climb, river run, and sand dune climb, all spaced out on a 5K course. It’s basically a tough mudder that you can do with your kids! 7. Pits in the Park 2016 Saturday, September 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s a pup-filled, fantastic time! There will be food and vendors, a costume contest for your pets, and more! Go out and support this great cause. 8. Strides Of Hope Saturday, September 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. It’s the annual walkathon for A Hope Center. This is closing weekend, don’t miss your chance to see it! 2. APQ at Club Soda Friday, Feb. 5 at 9p I’m thinking after I see Ruby Bridges Friday night, I’ll hit Club Soda for some wonderful martinis and an awesome show. 3. Cocktails and Sweet Deals Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11a – 8p Shop a variety of sweetheart inspired gifts, including framed vintage valentines, handmade felt flower bouquets, and one of a kind vintage jewelry. Red Dress Dash Saturday, Feb. 6, at 1:30pm – 3:30pm Get ready to throw on your favorite (or not so favorite) red dress over your winter clothing and DASH with us through the streets of downtown Fort Wayne to support women’s heart health! I probably won’t be dashing (not a runner) but I’ll definitely walk for the cause! Roller Derby Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3:30 Hey! The Roller Derby is back in Fort Wayne! Should be a super fun, off-beat date night (if that’s your thing). Valentine’s Special: 2 tickets for $20. YLNI Masquerade Ball Saturday, Feb. 6 at 8p Optional black tie, super fun. The theme is “Night at the Opera” and this YLNI celebration of the past year of regional partnership is something you don’t want to miss! I thought there was a lot to do last weekend, but this weekend it looks like I’m going to be even busier! Great shows, Winterval, and fun celebrations are on our weekend to-do list! Our calendar is full of fantastic events taking place around our city, so be sure to check it out for a more exhaustive list. Celebrate Downtown Thursday, January 28 5pm – 7pm Tweet your photos using #CelebrateDTFW Join us for a celebration of the people, places, and partnerships that make Downtown Fort Wayne such a great place to live, work, and play. This will be a night to honor the hard work and dedication that made 2015 a success while turning our focus to the future! 2. C2G Music Hall: The Accidentals Thursday, January 28, 8pm These young musicians have quite the impressive resume so far … and they’re just getting started. I think it’s going to be a great show, but also some pretty great inspiration for young people to follow their dreams. 3. Anomalisa Opening and Discussion Friday, January 29 at 6:30pm After the screening, there will be a short discussion led by Matt White, Animation Instructor at University of Saint Francis, and local animator Lyndy Bazile. 4. Together Alone Friday, January 29 at 8pm Saturday, January 30 at 7pm AND 9pm Together Alone is, on the surface, a representation of the decay throughout the city of Detroit. Performed by d.Ance.Kontemporary. Should be great! 5. Winterval Saturday, January 30 I hate winter, but I LOVE Winterval! There are so many fun things to do! Check out the program! 6. Juice Jar Quarterly Cleanse Event Join Juice Jar at the Cinema Center for a showing of the award winning documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. This event is the first in a series of quarterly events that will be hosted by Juice Jar to kick off a 3 or 7-day detox. 7. Creative Cocktails Saturday, January 30 at 5:30pm Arts United and YLNI invite you to join us for cocktails at Wine Down beginning at 5:30 pm followed by the Fort Wayne Philharmonic‘s latest Pops concert: Jake Shimabukuro: Ukulele Wizard. 8. Are you ready to Weather the Fort?

Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 20! Weather the Fort is coming to Downtown Fort Wayne at Freimann Square for a full day of fun. Created as a way to enjoy the winter time when most of us are experiencing a bit of cabin fever, this should be a fun time for all. This event is being catered to ages 21 and over. There will be local bands, live paintings, live ice sculpture carvings, dance performances, coffee tasting, S’mores stations, beer tent and much more! Performing acts confirmed include Pyroscope Entertainment, Soul 35, The Snarks and Secret Mezzanine. Fresh, homemade dishes will be provided by neighbors from the Old Journal Gazette building at WOW Factor (a division of Waiter on the Way). We will keep you updated as more information is received.
