Looking for fun things to do in Fort Wayne? Look no further! LFW compiles a list of ongoings and events that we’re excited about every week! This is by no means an exhaustive list, and if you don’t quite see what you’re looking for, check out our events calendar. Click on the event for more information about times, locations, cost, etc. 1. YLNI August Hot Spot Thursday, August 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Join us at The Golden this month for the August Hot Spot! 2. Shindigz National Soccer Festival Thursday, August 18 to Saturday, August 20 It’s that time again! High school and collegiate soccer, food and activities. 3. Zoo Brew and Wine Too Friday, August 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aaaaah … I love Zoo Brew! It’s so much fun. Walk around the zoo while local food and drink vendors offer samplings of some of your favorites! Local bands perform throughout the night, and all proceeds go to help the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo! 4. Fort Wayne Railroad Open House Friday, August 19 to Sunday, August 21 Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission and $4 train rides. History buffs and train lovers alike will have a great time at this event! 5. Summer Festival WGBJ 102.3FM La Unica, the local Spanish radio station, is hosting a Hispanic festival! They’re boasting the best authentic Mexican and multi-cultural food and a wide variety of entertainment options … all in the hopes of helping our community embrace diversity. Check it out! 6. All IN Block Party Saturday, August 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The second All IN Block Party is happening prior to the free outdoor showing of “Gremlins” by Sweets so Geek (see number 7 ). ALL IN is an Indiana Humanities Program that “encourages Hoosiers to think, read and talk.” The block party will promote civic engagement and build community through fun! 7. Free Outdoor Showing of Gremlins After the block party, stick around for a free outdoor showing of “Gremlins!” 8. 5K Run/Walk Saturday, August 20 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Run (or walk) for a cause! It’s a 5K to raise funds and awareness for Polio, sponsored by the Fort Wayne Rotary. 9. VFW End of Summer Party Saturday, August 20 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. An end of summer party with food and activities, a portion of the proceeds will go to help homeless veterans. Presents: Follow Friday 5: Meltdown in Downtown July 22 at 8 p.m. A night of fun with a variety of funny folks! 3. Java Mama Open House Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. Do crafts, have fun with legos, and get the kiddo’s face painted! There will be live acoustic music featuring Jen Fisher, Pop n Fresh, Plumdingo and Sarah Brown. And it’s all free! I love Java Mama, come check out this wonderful place! 4. Pokemon GO! Neighborhood Tours Saturday, July 23 at 4 p.m. Tour all the PokeStops in the area and learn some neat tips and tricks for this game that’s taking the world by storm. 5. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Saturday, July 23 through August 7, times vary This will be an amazing show! Don’t miss it! 6. Fort Wayne Pride July 22 and 23, Time varies There will be a variety of activities throughout the weekend, including the Pride March! 7. K105 Countryfest Saturday, July 23 at 1 p.m. Lee Brice, Jon Pardi, Clare Dunn, Drew Baldridge, LANco and Jordan Rager, should be a fun time! 8. Sweets So Geek Free Outdoor Movie: Labyrinth Saturday, July 23 at 8 p.m. Also a David Bowie appreciation night (that’s reason enough to go, right there). Vietnummy will be there and the charity for the evening is SCAN. Don’t miss it! 9. 98.9 The Bear’s Birthday Bash Sunday, July 24 at 3:30 p.m. Featuring Shinedown, Halestorm, Red Sun Rising and Devour the Day. 10. Allen County Fair July 26-31, times vary It’s fair time! Who doesn’t love the Allen County Fair?! Remember, this isn’t all Fort Wayne has to offer. Check out our events calendar, and get out and have some fun this weekend! YLNI Hot Spot Thurs, January 21, 5:30pm – 7:00pm Join us at the Hoppy Gnome this Thursday! Meet new friends and find out how you can get more involved with our community. A group of us from LFW will be there — come say hi! 2. Road to One Million Thurs, January 21, 6pm – 9pm Following the Hot Spot, head over to the Grand Wayne Convention Center for Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership Road to One Million Kick Off Celebration!  3. Winter Party Fri, January 22, 6pm Celebrate Winter exhibits with a night of art, music, food, and friends! Enjoy gourmet edibles and cash bar by Main Street Bistro and live music by Adam Strack 4. Summit Brewing Tap Showcase & Benefit Fri, January 22, 7pm Summit Brewing and Deer Park Pub will host a tap showcase to show off some of Summit’s delicious brews! 100% of the tips will be donated to local charity Wellspring Interfaith Social Services. 5. Beer and Bacon Fest Fri, January 22, 6pm – 10pm So … Beer and Bacon. Check out the local craft beers. There will be live music and other fun activities, and a silent auction to benefit Honor Flight Northeast Indiana. 6. Mizpah Shrine Circus January 21 6:30 pm January 22 7:00 pm January 23 10:00 am, .2:30 pm, 7:00 pm January 24 1:00 pm, 5:45 pm If you purchase your tickets for Friday night, head on over when you’re finished with the beer and the bacon! Does that sound like the best Friday night ever?! 7. Get Fit Fort Wayne Expo Sat, January 23, 10am – 8pm Sun, January 24, 11am – 5pm Does anyone else find it a little ironic that the Get Fit Expo is the same weekend as Beer and Bacon Fest? Maybe? There will be lifestyle seminars, interactive activities, health and fitness screenings, and everything you need to get fit and healthy in the new year! You probably need to check it out if you spent your Friday night drinking beer, and eating bacon and circus snacks. 8.
